After an ebay run, messages cam pouring in from people who knew the car, worked on the car, knew the owner!  I collected a wealth of information, including some scanned photos from when the car was new.  First owner Margueritte Macantee. Pictured hand side of head. Second owner, Melva Macantee, (chin on hand), daughter of Margueritte.  Melva is alsopictured in the car sometimein the 1980's, before the car had storage rust.  These are pics that Melva had submittedto the Packard Club magazine when they did an article on Women who own Packards. Melva's story with a pic was published providing 1st hand documentation on the car.I am third owner, and the mileage is documented as original!  Melva was the president of the Eastern Packard Club, prior to her passing.  SOLD

'Amazing survivor!  Shows 6,000 believable miles! Runs good, with a little 'sticky lifter' rattle.  Shifts , drives, and stops. Hydraulic top and windows all still work!  Door slams are solid.  Body seams are straight. Original spoke wheels, wide whites!  Front wheel moldings are now available repro...
I bought this beautiful Clipper...as a PARTS CAR! Yes, the bumpers and grille are awesome, near perfect, so they go the Caribbean. The bumpers don't have the "senior car" top rails, and the grill bar does not have the serrated center cap, but I think that is actually cleaner and sportier.  The Clipper now has powdercoated bumpers and a 52 "toothy" grille!
1953 Caribbean, purchased at on-line auction from Auburn IN.  Car had no bumpers or grille...assumed that owner sent out to chrome, and then he died. Parts lost.  Car appears to have been stored indoors, but moist air, maybe salt air. Interior still original and in great shape. Dash and steering wheel are perfect. Stickers still on dash to explain ignition switch. Top surfaces rusted. No rust holes anywhere! No dents at time of purchase!

Tragically the car was damaged in transit. Actual "moron" driver ping-ponged the car down to the trailer belly, bouncing off the siderails. He denied it, saying why do I care? The car is junk.  Yes this was a moron!
